CECAM plans to be able to provide children, who would otherwise not have the opportunity, with computer science workshops. CECAM hopes to expand this program by increasing the number of students and by increasing the facilities available.

By providing children with this type of education we are providing children with a base from which they have a greater option to further education, such as the CCNA (certificación oficial de cisco como un asociado y tecnico en redes): one of the most important and necessary qualification required to master information technology and it is internationally recognized. Five kids are currently involved with this program; if funding can be attained CECAM hopes to build on the facilities available and thus raise the number of children who can attend. We hope to triple the number of attendees.

What We Need 

The Office and Classroom

We currently only have one computer, which is often required for office use, between five children. While these children are learning a great deal more than they would without the project, in order for the kids to progress properly it is necessary to give them a proper basis of computer technology so their time with CECAM is the most productive. One computer per child would allow for a complete and comprehensive program that will allow the children to have better choices in the future.

The project is carried out by CECAM’s full staff which includes an IT professional and the volunteers who help out with this project.
